What is ‘micro-consulting call’?
This feature allows you to offer paid 1-hour expert calls directly from your Malt profile. Clients will be able to book time with you to get advice, feedback, or expertise on a specific topic, before or independently from a larger project.
You can:
- Set your consultation price (minimum €100, no maximum)
- Define your availability
- Explain what clients can expect from the call
- Activate or deactivate the feature anytime
For now, a 30% fee applies on the freelancer side for these micro-consulting calls.
When will clients be able to book calls?
Clients should be able to start booking calls this summer.
For now, we invite you to set up your profile and availability so you’re ready when bookings open. Calendar synchronization is not live yet, but it will be available soon.
How does a call work?
A client books and prepays for a 1-hour session directly on Malt.
Before the call, the client can share context and questions to help you prepare. You will receive a Google Meet link by email for the session.
Payment will be released once the call is completed and confirmed by the client.
I don’t have access to the feature yet. What should I do?
This feature is currently in a very limited beta and access is granted by Malt only.
If you don’t have access yet, we recommend that you create a Malt account and complete your profile as usual. We are progressively opening the feature to more freelancers over time.

Small tip: A strong, complete profile increases your chances of being selected when access expands (profile picture, detailed experiences, portfolio, and expertise).
Do I need to be compliant to use the feature?
Yes. To offer paid expert calls on Malt, you must be compliant and able to invoice through Malt according to your local regulations and status.
Before activating the feature, please make sure your account and legal information are up to date.
