Malt service offers and fees

Malt provides three service levels to give companies the best experience when working with freelancers:

Choose the plan that best fits your freelance projects. Service fees are charged on the pre-tax amount billed by your freelancer.

All plans include access to Malt Strategy, though some features may have extra costs.

Access to Malt Strategy is available with each plan. Please note that Malt Strategy features and services will incur additional fees.

Malt service fees
These fees appear as service fees on each project your freelancers complete through Malt.
When you get your end-of-project invoice, there are usually two invoices for you to pay:
• One invoice for the freelancer’s service (between you and the freelancer)
• One invoice for Malt’s service fees (between you and Malt)
• The freelancer also gets a separate invoice from Malt for Malt’s fees.

Freelancers on Malt do not pay fees directly.

How are the service fees used?

Malt’s fees covers operating costs such as:
• Running the platform
• Security features to protect projects
• Handling administrative tasks
• Supporting the freelancer community through dedicated teams

These costs enable us to provide many valuable services, like:
• Simplified project management features
• Dedicated account managers (starting with Advanced plan)
• Freelancer sourcing support (starting with Advanced plan)
•  Cash advance service to pay freelancers quickly when you pay by invoice
• Responsive customer support
• Project protection coverage up to 20 million euros
