How do I earn points?

The program is based on collecting points, not just your turnover. You can earn points in several ways:
- Completing your profile to 100% earns you 200 points.
- Requesting recommendations gives you 20 points.
- Completing projects: every pound you invoice on Malt boosts your points at a rate adjusted for your profession.
Points are calculated based on your total billing (including VAT) and client loyalty. You receive points when the client validates the project. Your points are valid for 15 rolling months and are based on the main category you select for your profession.
We have analysed typical project types (length, frequency, amount) across all freelance professions on Malt to ensure everyone has a fair chance to benefit from the Super Malter program.
Bonus points
You can also earn extra points by building client loyalty. These bonuses highlight your service quality and ability to keep clients returning.
From the second project with the same client, you receive a bonus based on the project's point value. This bonus doubles for following projects. The same applies for time-based projects: the second month brings a bonus, which doubles with each additional month.
What are the different levels of the program?
The Super Malter program has three levels, each offering access to more projects and exclusive benefits. To advance, earn the required number of points over a rolling 15-month period:
- Super Malter 1: at least 7,500 points
- Super Malter 2: at least 15,000 points
- Super Malter 3: at least 30,000 points

What are the rating and charter requirements?
You need an average client rating of at least 4.5 out of 5. After each project, your client can choose to leave a review, though it is optional. You need at least one rating to be eligible for a Super Malter badge. For time-based projects lasting more than three months, you can qualify for the badge even without a rating.
You must sign the freelancer code of conduct, as Malt's system is based on upholding our values and professionalism. If you do not comply, you may lose your Super Malter badge.
What rewards does the program offer?
Each level in the Super Malter program gives you access to exclusive benefits, including:
1) Badges
The badge appears on your Malt profile and across the platform, including freelancer search pages where clients find you. It serves as a mark of trust, showing your expertise with Malt, the quality of your work, punctuality, interpersonal skills, and adherence to Malt community values. Having this badge boosts your profile's visibility.
2) Profile visibility and attractiveness
As you progress through the levels, your profile becomes more visible and attractive in search results. The badge reflects client trust and your activity on Malt.
