Umbrella companies now have their own Malt account to manage legal documents and bank details for all affiliated consultants.
- Freelancers under umbrella companies no longer upload the umbrella company's documents.
- The umbrella company creates a dedicated account and provides required KYC documents.
- Payments for affiliated freelancers are sent to the umbrella company's bank account.
You no longer need to upload or update the legal documents of the umbrella company that represents you in your freelance space.
Each umbrella company has its own Malt account to manage its registration documents and bank details on behalf of all its consultants.
How do I register as an umbrella company?
Provide details of the legal representative of the umbrella company:

After your legal documents are validated, you must provide your company’s banking details.
All payments for freelancers supported by your company will be transferred to this IBAN.
Expired documents = temporary suspension of visibility and potential payment delays.
Select umbrella company legal form
The umbrella company is responsible for keeping its documents up to date. Each year, it must provide proof of registration less than three months old.
Please check that the following details are correct:
• Registration address
• Registration number
• Intra-community VAT number (if applicable in Europe)

We will then send the umbrella company an email with the steps to follow.
To appear in the drop-down menu, all umbrella company must provide all the KYC information and documents related to your legal structure and keep them updated.
Once added, this change will automatically apply to all freelancers working through Malt, with no action required on their part.

My freelancers
For each new affiliation request from a freelancer, an email notification will be sent to the address you provided. You can approve or decline the request directly in the My Freelancers tab of your client area.
My payments
Funds for freelancers affiliated with your company will be paid into your company’s bank account. You are then responsible for paying the freelancer according to the terms set by your umbrella company.
How do I identify each transaction?
You can track transactions in the Invoices and Payments tab of your Malt account. Each payment includes the freelancer’s first and last name, along with the project title.
Where can I find my freelancers’ invoices?
As an administrator, you have access to:
• Your company’s legal information
• Payment history
• The list of affiliated freelancers
• Your company’s banking details
However access to projects and invoices is reserved for freelancers and their clients.
Documents related to projects (invoices, order summaries) are only available to the freelancer and the client. To obtain these documents, you must request them directly from the freelancer.
