Choose your expertise
Based on your experience, select the option that best matches your expertise: Management consultant or Interim executive.
If you are not a management consultant or interim executive, you will be automatically redirected to the Malt marketplace, which is better suited to your profile and will let you receive opportunities matching your expertise and preferences.
Complete your profile
Profile title
Add your profile title. Be clear and concise so future clients can identify what you do at a glance. The title also helps you select the best job category later.
Job category and level of experience
The Malt algorithm will recommend categories that best match your job title. If you cannot find the right fit, add a category manually by clicking Can't find the right categories?
The job category is essential for matching. The first category you choose will be your preferred one and should reflect the type of projects you most want to work on.
Experience and skills
Select the functional expertise that best matches your background. You can choose up to 10 skills in areas such as Organisation & IT, Operations, Leadership & Management, Marketing & Sales, Market Analysis, Finance, and Strategy.
You can also manually add other skills or tools if needed. Skills play a key role in matching — highlight those that best reflect your expertise rather than selecting as many as possible.
Industry expertise
Indicate your industry expertise to receive the most relevant projects. For many clients this is a key factor — mention all sectors where you have experience. You can select up to 5 industries aligned with the projects you want.
Daily rate
Enter your daily rate. This amount is an estimate visible only to the Malt Strategy team. You can adjust it for each project, and the team can help you position your rate effectively.
Travel expenses should not be included as they can be negotiated separately with the client.
Location and travel preferences
Enter your location and travel preferences. You can also indicate if you are open to travelling abroad for certain projects — this does not mean spending 100% of your time abroad; it depends on client requirements and early discussions.
Language
List all languages you speak and specify your level for each. Do not forget to include your native language.
Phone number
Enter your phone number and select the correct country code. You can update it later in account settings after completing the application. This information is not displayed on your profile. The Malt Strategy team may use it to contact you about your profile or potential opportunities. It will not be used for commercial purposes. See the Malt Privacy Policy for more information.
Account information
Enter the following:
- First and last name
- Password (minimum 8 characters, at least one uppercase letter and one special character)
You can also sign up with Google or Facebook. Information provided will not be displayed on your profile.
Professional and academic experience
To finalise your application, provide your professional and academic background manually or import from LinkedIn. LinkedIn import is only available if you have not yet added experience or education to your profile. You can edit experience and education at any time.
Import your data from LinkedIn
- Go to your LinkedIn profile.
- Click the More button.
- Select Save to PDF.
- Upload the PDF to your Malt Strategy profile.
Only professional experience and academic background will be imported. This feature is available only if you have not yet added experience or education.
Profile picture
Add a professional photo. Clients appreciate CVs with a picture. Ensure the image is straight and not tilted. Only JPG and PNG files are accepted, 500 px minimum, up to 5 MB. Malt uses facial recognition to ensure only appropriate photos are displayed.
Professional description
Create a compelling summary outlining your requirements, relevant experience, key skills, and preferences. Although optional, this field helps the Malt Strategy team match you with the best projects.
Your freelancing experience
This is the final step before submitting your application. It is optional but helps the team understand the community. Indicate whether you already freelance or are exploring freelancing as a new way of working. If you are new to freelancing, the Malt team can support your first steps as an independent professional.
Submit your application
After completing all steps, submit your application or save it to review later.
Once your profile is complete, the Malt Strategy team will review your application within 3 business days and notify you by email. If all criteria are met, you will officially join the Malt Strategy community and start receiving projects.

Troubleshooting
Problem: Your profile does not meet Malt Strategy eligibility criteria.
Solution: You will receive an email notification and be automatically redirected to the Malt marketplace. Your profile will then appear in Malt search results, allowing you to receive opportunities and connect directly with clients. This redirection means the best opportunities for your profile are on the marketplace — it is not an assessment of your skill level.
