How does cash advance eligibility work?
Malt works with financial partners to offer this service. When you enter your billing information, your eligibility for the cash advance is automatically assessed. By accepting our Terms of Service (T&Cs), you authorize the freelancers you work with to benefit from this service by default.
Cash advance eligibility criteria
Eligibility depends on several criteria, both for the freelancer and the client: -
For freelancers :
The legal documents for the account must be valid (active business).
No financial or ownership relationship should exist between the client and the freelancer.
For customers:
The company must be considered eligible by our financial partners, following an analysis of its financial health.
Payment deadlines must be respected (between 30 and 60 days after invoice issue).
All billing information must be correctly completed (e.g.: validated professional email, SIRET number or equivalent identifier, intra-community VAT number, etc.).
Bill
The project invoice as well as expense reports are eligible for the cash advance.
There are eligibility criteria for funding these:
The invoice must not be more than 20 days old from its issue date.
The amount invoiced must be a minimum of 20 EUR, USD or GBP unless otherwise indicated by the financial partner.
Invoices under €2,000 have a low probability of being accepted by our financial partners.
In the event of repeated late payment, invoices will no longer be financed. This limitation may be lifted as soon as the payments due are regularized.
Why was the cash advance not triggered?
Malt remains dependent on the validation criteria of funding partners.
If the ceiling set by our funding partners is reached, the freelancers with whom you are working will be paid once you have paid the invoices.
We cannot influence the decision to finance invoices if they refuse.
You will find in our article 3.2.7 of the T&Cs, information concerning our various financing partners.
