How can I find the best freelancer for my project?

Within Malt, Malt Strategy is a specialized and vetted community of management consultants and change managers. Members of this group must pass a strict application process to ensure they meet high standards of expertise and experience.
To qualify, management consultants must have at least two years of experience with a reputable consulting firm, while change managers are expected to have a minimum of ten years of professional experience, preferably in senior management roles.

Malt Strategy experts do not appear in the general freelancer search results. Instead, they can only be reached through our team after you submit your project on Malt.

Finding a Freelancer

There are two main ways to find freelancers on Malt:
• Use our search engine to browse freelancer profiles directly.
• Post a project and let AI matching algorithm recommend the most suitable freelancers for your needs 

If you are seeking expert management consultants or change managers through Malt Strategy, you must submit a project with all required details so our team can identify the ideal consultant for you.

AI search 

Using a combination of large external language models and custom AI trained on data from over 800,000 freelancers and millions of past client-freelancer pairs, Malt’s AI Search goes beyond simple keyword matching. It understands the full context of a project, recognizing patterns and synonyms to ensure the best matches are found even when project descriptions vary.

The search engine

To find a freelancer, go to our homepage and enter a keyword and location in the search bar.
You’ll see all available freelancer profiles, which you can further refine by filters such as team recommendations, Super Malters, expertise, or experience level.

Browse through the profiles and contact freelancers directly by clicking the “Propose a project” button on their profile page.

You can select and contact up to 6 freelancers to share your project with.
To add more freelancers:
• Click “Select more freelancers” to return to search results.
• Add profiles by clicking “Add to my selection” on their profile page.
When selecting freelancers, you can contact them directly by sending a project proposal.
 

Sending proposals to 3 freelancers instead of 1 increases your chance of getting quotes by 50%.

You can remove freelancers anytime from your selection via their profile or the selection module.
Only one selection can be active at a time. Any new selection replaces the previous one.
Selection retention:
• Logged-in users keep their selection for 24 hours from creation.
•  Guests retain selection only during their session or up to 24 hours, ending when the browser is closed or inactive for 4 hours.
