Why should I leave a review after completing a project with a freelancer?

For starters, a freelancer's reputation really matters—and leaving a positive review can help boost their reputation on the platform in a big way.

Not to mention, your review can both reinforce and add to what freelancers have already included in their profiles. Sometimes this can be the single factor that helps a potential new client choose one freelancer over another.

Long story short: The Malt Community is built on the collaboration and mutual support of both freelancers and the clients they work with. As a client, this is your opportunity to help your favorite freelancers shine.

Pay it forward!

If you were pleased with the work a freelancer did for you on a project, aside from simply leaving a positive rating and review, why not consider paying it forward by doing one of the following:

  • Recommend them to other colleagues—either within your business or across your professional network. While you're at it, why not give them a shoutout with a LinkedIn post linking to their Malt profile? This positive word-of-mouth can help them grow their businesses.

  • Offer a spot bonus at a project's completion. If you were blown away by the quality of the work or the positive dynamic you had with the freelancers you've worked with (or both), invite them to modify their quotes—by adding a bonus of your choosing—before they mark the project complete.
