What is a cash advance?
At Malt, we work with financing partners to offer a cash advance service that allows you to finance your invoices and expense reports .
This advantage is part of the various services offered by Malt which allows you to avoid paying your customers (example: payment on invoice within 30 to 60 days).
By accepting our T&Cs, you agree by default to benefit from the cash advance service for the payment of your invoices.
It allows you to be paid within 10 working days from the date of validation of your mission or the last activity report validated by your client, while giving the client the possibility of paying later subject to eligibility conditions .
Namely, eligibility for the cash advance service, for the client, the freelancer, and each of the invoices, is subject to analysis by our financing partners throughout the duration of your project.
How does cash advance eligibility work?
Eligibility for the cash advance may change between the start and end of your collaboration with your client.
Why this variation?
Eligibility depends on different criteria that are applicable to both freelancers and clients:
For freelancers:
Your account legal documents must be valid (active business).
There is no financial or ownership relationship between the Client company and the Freelancer company.
For customers:
Your client must be validated as eligible by our financial partner, through analyses of the results linked to their financial health.
Your customer must respect the deadline for payment of invoices to our financing partners, i.e. between 30 and 60 days after the date of issue.
All billing information requested from your customer must be correctly completed (e.g., validated business email, ID number, VAT number, etc.)
Bill
Project invoices and expense reports are eligible for cash advances. There are eligibility criteria for financing these advances:
The invoice must not be more than 20 days old from its issue date.
The amount invoiced must be a minimum of 20 EUR, USD or GBP unless otherwise indicated by the financial partner.
Invoices under €2,000 have a low probability of being accepted by our financial partners.
In the event of repeated late payment, invoices will no longer be financed. This limitation may be lifted as soon as the payments due are regularized.
Example of financing
After your invoice has been issued (either following the completion of your task-based project or following validation of your CRA for a project billed based on time spent), it is sent to our financing partners.
We then await their funding decision. You will then be notified of the acceptance or rejection of this advance directly by email and on the platform in your "project tracking" area.
Funding accepted : You will receive payment within 10 working days from the validation of your CRA and/or the end of the project.

Financing refused : Payment will be made according to your customer's deadlines (between 30 and 60 days).
Why was the cash advance not triggered?
You cannot benefit from the cash advance if the criteria mentioned in the section “How does eligibility for the cash advance work?” are not met.
Our teams work closely with our payment partners on a daily basis to ensure you can benefit from this service.
Malt remains dependent on the validation criteria of funding partners.
We cannot influence the decision to finance your invoices if they refuse.
In case you have not received your payment within the given time frame, please contact us as soon as possible.
You will find in our article 3.2.7 of the T&Cs, information concerning our various financing partners.
