Why was my proof of identity refused? (France only)

There are a number of possible reasons why your proof of identity—whether in the form of a national ID card, passport, or driver's license—was not accepted:

• Your ID is out of date (🇫🇷 or the conditions for extending the validity of your carte nationale d'identité (CNI) to +5 years are not met).

• Your ID uses your maiden name (versus a newly changed legal name).

• You have accidentally inverted your first and last name (don't worry, this is a change you can make easily directly in your Malt account).
